Heating bearings is
now
three times faster and
twice as cheap.
The SKF TIH 070m and TIH 090m induction heaters
SKF Maintenance Products, a division of the SKF Group, has
extended its range of induction heaters with the introduction
of the new SKF TIH 070m and TIH 090m induction heaters. These
new SKF TIH induction heaters can heat a wide range of bearing
sizes three times faster and twice cheaper than any other
heaters available today.
Induction heaters are often identified by their power input
kVA, which does not correlate with the heater's performance
in terms of heating time and capacity. In fact high kVA can
suggest higher power consumption and not necessarily better
heating performance. Designed with high efficiency in mind,
the new SKF TIH induction heaters heat bearings quickly at
low energy consumption despite their relatively low power
input ranging from 2,0 to 6,5 kVA.
This speed and efficiency are achieved as a result of positioning
the induction coil outside the heater's housing, allowing
the bearing to be placed around the coil. This significant
innovation results in heating time reduction by up to 70%
and ultimately reducing heating costs by up to 50%. Additionally,
both heaters are equipped with a 4-step power reduction, ranging
from 20 to 80%, and smaller yokes for heating smaller bearings
at lower power consumption.
Smart electronics protect the induction coil and the circuitry
of the new SKF TIH induction heaters from thermal overheating.
In addition to time-heating mode, the heaters are equipped
with temperature heating mode, which is pre-set at 110 °C (230
°F) to prevent bearing over-heating.
The TIH 090m is equipped with cooling fan, which allows continuous
use. A swivel arm facilitates easy and quick placement and
removal of bearings.
